Would you like to join us for a five day intensive singing bowl forging experience in Cornwall?
Transforming the Chalice and the Sword
Sat 28th April - Wed 2nd May 2018
At Polhilsa House, Callington, Cornwall
After many years in the dreaming, this impulse is finally able to be birthed. We are thrilled to be hosted by Debbi Walker of Suara Sound Academy.
This will be a Beltane workshop and creates the possibility for a personal retreat - one that invites you to forge sound and self. We are inviting you to craft two instruments in these five days - a singing bowl and a sounding rod or tubular bell - your own Chalice and Sword. We will be coming together at the time of year when the earth energies are also coming together with the forces of yin and yang acting to
fertilize the land/the Earth for a new season.
Drawing on the legend of the grail in the land of its history we invite this archetypal knowing into a new context of birthing sound instruments. Instruments of high potency and high frequency that create vibrational morphic fields and may assist the birth of a new time. These frequencies can literally create and enable possibilities of different future trajectories and bring us face to face with our own
creatorship capacities.
This invitation is for the makers to craft sound swords that lift or cut through the fog of unconsciousness and anti-consciousness and singing bowls or chalices able to facilitate the birth of something that has not been here before.
How may these lands commune with us to deepen and open our own direct receiving and gifting of the earth lines and energies?
The ancients that lived so closely with the consciousness of the earth were keen observers and listeners to moon, to tide, to season, to planetary breath and cosmic cycles. They lived beyond reason and ever close to the deeply rhythmic flow and rivers of energy that permeate and create the earth renewal and declining forces of life from an ever evolving consciousness.
As we go towards this very particular land with our invitation to forge metal and sound vibration we ask these questions by way of preparation and to extend our invitation ...

Through this work of metal and Sound Smithing we draw upon the Elements of Craft, the Elementals of Nature and our place as co-creators within the circle of life on Earth.
Throughout an immersive four days you will scribe and cut the metal, working closely with the fire and all of the elements to shape finely crafted sounding vessels. Through fire, water, metal, hammer, hand and heart, sound will be both creator and created.
With some attunement to group and the process we may be called to visit one or two of the nearby ancient sited or woodlands to connect, receive, contribute more specifically.
On the completion of your newly crafted instruments we will welcome - initiate them - in a way that honours them as conscious beings.
Through both the alchemical process of crafting and the development of our sensory awareness with both sound, place and space we can extend our ‘listening’, ie perceiving, sensing and awareness - attunement tools that open our lives to living more consciously in relation to all of life.
A record keeper and a close ally… sound as a companion and assistance to the creation of the healing states of harmony, peace and stillness.
