Forge Your Own Singing Bowl
"The possibility of making your own healing instrument is rare. The experience of forging with your own hands is transformational in itself. The instruments that result are exceptional. Book this course, bring your soul-spirit into your hands."
Director of Sounding Bowls – Tuning the Circle
These workshops are about so much more than making a singing bowl: the bowl making process is held in a vibrational field which encourages self-reflection leading to self-knowledge and insight, recognition and potential release of blockages to the free flow of energy whether mental, emotional, physical or spiritual: Gabriella and Heather are always there to facilitate these healing and clearing times.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be co-facilitating our first ever
Gong Making Workshop
at FellEdge Farm, nr Addingham, Yorkshire
A Collaborative Creation with our friends and mentors, Ton Akkermans and Carolina Schomper at the venue that has been supporting our work here in the north of England.
This is a residential four days and nights dedicated to the forging and crafting of your own brass or bronze gong.
This workshop is especially inviting those who have made a bowl or two with us or Ton in the past years and who really desire the experience of forging and crafting a larger instrument to carry these sounds further into their lives. The instruments are large and follow a different process of making to the bowls but it is desirable for the maker to have a foundation of working the metal as a singing bowl before undertaking the making of a gong.
Read more below or go to the Creation of Gongs page to find out more of the richness on offer.
This residential retreat includes meals and camping on a private farm that overlooks the edge of the Fells. The land is open and extensive whilst managing to also create a community atmosphere for the creation of a village space. Showers, indoor and outdoor facilities with communal fireplace as well as truly delicious food prepared by Heather and a kitchen team. For anyone who would like to attend the workshop but would prefer to sleep in beds there are local B&Bs, and other options in the immediate area.
Walks on the beautiful ridges near the farm and also a swim in the river are a source of real pleasure during long summer days and nights and campfires will burn in this environment of rich creative nourishment for those ready to take a deeper dive into instrument making with us all.
Mornings and evenings will provide a space for opening to greater sound work and awareness through story, through intuitive sensing and through the sharing of Sound Weavings and Meditations.
*Please enquire more fully if you desire to craft one of these unique instruments but have not made two bowls with us before. We are open to questions and possibilities.
The price for this four days and four nights is £750
We welcome a non refundable deposit of £200 to secure your place.
There will be an additional materials cost for the metal that is based on market price at point of our buying and could range between £45 - £200 depending on size and type used - ie phosphor bronze or brass
The price for this workshop fully reflects the energy undertaken and unleashed through the crafting of one of these fine and strong sounding instruments. They are a style unique to this 'school' of sound and create a vast range of voices that call each of us to receive and live from wholly new frequencies.
For more information about these gongs and their crafting please directly engage with Gabriella who has made many of these masterful instruments or Carolina and Ton. You can contact them through our contact page. You can also read more about Ton and Carolina's immense gifts with sound here.
To book contact Heather or Gabriella directly or go to the contacts page.

I still cannot come over it... I play it often and in the least likely places around the office... Today a friend told me it sounds so "balanced" and "whole" that I even shed a tear for her sensitive ears. :-) Another one simply knelt in front of me and kissed my hands. I am so touched myself by the 3-day experience, the result and by the reactions of these two people today that my wings are flapping strong and carrying me 10 cm above ground. :-) THANK YOU!"
